Dodd Done

December 13, 2007

Taegan Goddard’s Political Wire is reporting that Dodd has failed to acquire the 5,000 signatures necessary to get on the primary ballot in New York.  This, for all intensive purposes, ends his Presidential campaign.  Of all the ways to terminate a campaign, this is the most shocking and disappointing.

Sen. Christopher Dodd, trailing badly in the polls for the Democratic presidential nomination, failed to file to appear on the ballot in New York. This seems an odd choice for the senator from neighboring Connecticut where his profile is undoubtedly higher than elsewhere in the nation. The New York Democratic party requires 5,000 signatures to appear on the ballot. According to Ballot Access News, just six candidates met that requirement: Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Biden, Richardson, and Kucinich.

Congressman Chris Murphy on “Where We Live”

December 13, 2007

Here is the audio from Congressman Murphy’s appearance on WNPR’s “Where We Live” last Friday.

It’s exceptionally lengthy and he discusses a number of topics including the mortgage crisis, international relations and the threat of global war, Iran, intelligence gathering, immigration, and – quite oddly – softly condemning the United States Senate.  He also takes questions from the public on a variety of other issues.
